‘Patay na si Hesus’ star Chai Fonacier will soon share the screen with Hollywood actress Eva Green, as seen in the trailer for their international thriller ‘Nocebo’.
The trailer was released on production company RLJE Films’ YouTube channel yesterday October 4 and shows a fashion designer (Green) who suffers from a mysterious illness that frustrates her husband, played by British actor Mark Strong.
The illness Green’s character suffers from baffles doctors until a Filipino nurse (Fonacier) arrives and uses his traditional folk healing to reveal an “ugly truth”.
While the caregiver stays with the family and helps the fashion designer through various rituals, her employer’s husband becomes suspicious and accuses the nanny of “controlling” his wife.
Last year, Fonacier and Green both congratulated each other while “Nocebo” was in production. Fonacier called Green “among the best, kindest and most talented people [she has] never worked,” while Green described Fonacier as “really a great actress” and “an incredible partner.”
“Nocebo,” a psychological thriller set in London and Manila, is written by Garret Shanley and directed by Lorcan Finnegan. It will begin streaming in theaters on November 4 and on video-on-demand on November 22. /ra
