Ronald E. Yoder, 82, of McVeytown, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at State College’s Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Born September 17, 1940 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Lewis and Dorothy (Fagan) Yoder.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by; one brother, Clyde Yoder, and two sisters, Esther Kauffman and Francis Cowan.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (Kauffman) Yoder, whom he married February 8, 1964; children, Rodney L. Yoder and his wife, Kelly, of Lewistown, Roger L. Yoder, of McVeytown, and Kelly (Yoder) Phillips, and her husband, John, of Hamilton, Va.; grandchildren, Ronald J. Yoder and wife, Kimberly, Alexandra E. Phillips and Jordan B. Phillips; great-granddaughter, Palmer M. Yoder; and his siblings, Sarah Espigh, of Lewistown, Nanny Irvin, of McVeytown, and a twin brother, Robert Yoder, and his wife, Marjorie, of Reedsville.

He was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren.

Ronald graduated from Rothrock High School. He earned an associate’s degree from Williamsport Area Community College.

He worked as a telephone engineer for Sprint.

He always put family first. He was a mason, sailor, private pilot, carpenter, outdoorsman and avid reader. He was a wonderful example of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend. He will be deeply missed and will never be forgotten.

According to his wishes, the services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
