Madeline Julia (Franco) Rupe, 93, of Lewistown passed away peacefully on Saturday July 16, 2022 at Valley View Haven Retirement Community in Belleville.

Born January 4, 1929, she was the first daughter of the late Alexander and Julia (Merciai) Franco. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, the late Reverend Dean E. Rupe. They were married in Altoona on August 20, 1952.

Madeline is survived by her son, Stephen D. Rupe and his wife Christine M. Rupe, of Wrightsville, her granddaughter, Hillary C. Antolick and her husband Nick, her great-grandchild Christopher Dean, her grandson , Eric S. Rupe and wife Kelly Bree, great-grandson Riley Bree, and granddaughter, Emily Rupe, son, Timothy P. Rupe and husband Mark A. Stuart, of San Diego, California, daughter, Deanna R. Monroe and husband Mark J. Monroe, of Lewistown, and grandchildren, Alexander J. Monroe and Addison D. Monroe; his sister, Carrie Robertson and her husband Claire, and his brothers, Alex Franco and his wife Barb, and David Franco and his wife Maxima.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School and Zeth Business School.

Madeline was the wife of a devoted pastor to her husband, Reverend Dean E. Rupe for St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Center Hall; Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Yeagertown; Gatesburg Lutheran Church, at Warriors Mark; Shiloh Lutheran Church, at State College. She was a loving sister, mother, aunt and nanny, great-nanny and faithful friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service in loving memory of Madeline will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044, with Pastor Allen Hulslander. arbitrate.

Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Altoona.

Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
