PHILLIPS
Joan V “Nanny” Phillips, 92, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born on June 2, 1929 in Ecorse, Michigan, the daughter of the late Steward and Viola Wohlfeil McPherson.
On May 27, 1950, she married Guy Phillips, who predeceased her on May 3, 2006. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Michael Phillips; and a sister, Jean Thornton.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Phillips and his fiancée, Sheri Higgins, of Fremont, Michigan, Daniel Phillips and his wife, Janet, and Craig Phillips and his wife, Linda, all of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Isreal of Fremont; and caregiver, Mary Miller of Philippi, West Virginia.
Ms Phillips was a housewife, attended Bethany Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo.
Friends will be received on Thursday January 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Poling-St. Claire’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Gary Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Sand Run Baptist Cemetery in Excelsior, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buckhannon Salvation Army in memory of Mrs Phillips.
