“I like to do other things, so I’m also currently working at a box office – with Coronation Street endorsement,” she told the Mirror.
“If I have a quiet moment with my script, I go back to Derby and work at the box office. I’ve been there for five years.
She added, “I also mentor youth in foster care and teach at my old drama school. I really like it. I learn a lot about myself, about others and about the world.
This is not the first time that Kate has given up acting recently.
She worked as a part-time real estate agent during the height of the Covid pandemic.
The star revealed that she turned to property for some “regularity” in her life as her role in the soap subsided.
“Today was the last day of the part-time job I did during the lockdown,” she wrote alongside two photos of herself holding flowers and a balloon.
“Kudos to @BelvoirLetsWB for welcoming me with open arms, teaching me all about the property, giving me some sort of consistency over the last year and always laughing.”
Along with the beaming snaps, which saw the star dressed in office attire outside of her workplace, she concluded: “10 months of gratitude.”
It’s been a big year for Kate who recently got engaged.
She got engaged to boyfriend Paul Walker in June and said yes “a million times” to his romantic proposal.
She told fans, “After the Tomahawk steak, before the Tiramisu, and with a coffee in hand, he turned me into a mess. A million times, completely and totally yes.”
The emotional star then used sweet hashtags on her Instagram post, including “marry my best friend” and “all tears.”
Kate joined the cobblestones in 2019 as Spencer, Michael Bailey’s ex-girlfriend.
She has also appeared in Doctors and Survive the Night on television as well as on stage in productions of Alice in Wonderland and Great Expectations.
Even if she leaves Corrie, Grace Vickers may have a chance to return, but not before her blackmail plan unfolds.
Grace asks Aggie and Ed Bailey for a home after being rejected by their son Michael and threatened to take their granddaughter Glory away if they don’t comply.
A source said: “Grace and Michael’s relationship is going to become explosive, which will cause her to leave the streets.
“Their relationship has been a rocky one to say the least, but it’s about to take a notch up in the fall. This will be one of the main storylines of the series.
“The door has been left open for Grace to return to the streets at a later date if the producers decide they want her to return.”
