WASHINGTON, DC, USA, April 12, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — CiNoMatic, NoMa’s free outdoor movie series at Alethia Tanner Park, returns for a second season this spring. Every Wednesday night from May 11 through June 8, the NoMa Business Improvement District (BID) will stream free movies under the stars. The theme for the Spring 2022 season is “Wednesday Night Nostalgia” and includes the following stellar lineup of classic films from the 80s and 90s:
• 5/11: Mrs. Doubtfire
• 18/05: Nice races
• May 25: the sand ground
• 6 / 1: spatial traffic jam
• 06/08: The princess bride
“We are thrilled to have the second season of CiNoMatic beginning this spring, and we look forward to bringing the community together on Wednesday nights for fun movies at Alethia Tanner Park,” said Maura Brophy, President and CEO of NoMa BID. “NoMa is blessed with the huge lawn of Alethia Tanner Park, where last year over 600 people congregated weekly for our free CiNoMatic film screenings. Thank you to everyone who voted for this spring’s movie lineup and helped us pick out some of the biggest returning movies.
The Spring 2022 CiNoMatic lineup was determined by community vote in March 2022, with over 600 people participating. The films selected are all classic films from the 1980s and 1990s that span a range of genres and ratings. The featured films portray a wide range of iconic characters, from Jamaica’s Cool Runnings bobsled team to San Francisco’s most infamous nanny, Mrs. Doubtfire.
Wednesday night CiNoMatic film screenings begin at sunset, with lawn seating in Alethia Tanner Park opening an hour before the show starts. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as seats are allocated in first come first served. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs, and picnics (NoMa restaurants are open for takeout!). Food and beverages will also be available for purchase from local food truck partners. Dogs on a leash are welcome
