Bethenny Frankel wins Reality Royalty Award at MTV Movie, TV Awards – The Hollywood Reporter

Reality TV star Bethenny Frankel received the Reality Royalty Award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted on Sunday.

Paris Hilton, who said Frankel was her nanny when Frankel first moved to Los Angeles, introduced the reality star before a sizzle reel played Frankel on New York Housewives.

“She’s the kind of woman who makes you laugh out loud, isn’t afraid to go deep, and is fiercely loyal unless you cross her path,” Hilton said. “She’s also an incredibly successful entrepreneur and kind-hearted philanthropist, always looking for ways to share her good fortune with others. She once said, ‘You can’t just show the petals and not the thorns. It’s not fair to them. So Bethenny, it’s time for us to give you your flowers, your thorns and all.

“It’s come full circle,” Frankel joked. “I took care of Paris when she was out of nappies. This is actually the announcement of our new reality show where Paris changes my layers. It’s called It’s not hot.”

Getting serious, Frankel said, “Thank you, MTV. Thank you to the public who invested in an imperfect but still transparent person. I overstepped the mark. All I ever wanted was to make a difference in some way. Leave a mark. I was a late bloomer. I wasn’t successful by any definition, and I was broke and writing bad checks until my late thirties. Reality TV gave me a platform to be authentically myself, to be honest about my flaws, my struggles being shattered, alone and without a safety net, a place to mention everything.

She continued, “It’s accessible if you take one mistake at a time and create your own authentic journey. Being honest, imperfect and unique is beautiful. I’m here living honestly and doing what’s important to me on my own terms. You have taught me so many life lessons and have been on this amazing journey with me since day one. You have given me and my daughter a life I could not have dreamed of. I’m grateful to you and my team for supporting me when it’s hard and exhausting and we all want to quit. Thanks to Bravo, Andy Cohen, and that crazy, amazing first cast of New York Housewives. You gave me a runway from which to fly. Success comes from hard work and building relationships and a level of trust and the right people who bet you are the horse that can run the distance… Thanks to Paul, the most loyal and loving partner whose I could have dreamed. To Bryn, my sweet peanut, I gave you everything and you gave me back infinity. You are the little girl in people’s dreams. I love you. To my daughter and all of you who have a dream, make good choices, play the long game. We have to play checkers every day, but this whole ride is a gigantic chessboard, choose your moves wisely. And don’t go for the handy fruit. The brightest apple sits at the top. It’s all just a dream. Go all for yours.

She is the second person to win this award after casting Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was the first recipient in 2021.

In 2005, Frankel starred in The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, on which she came second. Then she was on Bravo New York Housewives for eight seasons. She has also starred in many other shows, including a Bethenny forever spin-off and hosted his own talk show, Bethenny. In 2021, it launches Big bang with Bethennya reality competition series on HBO Max in which she was looking for her second in command in her company Skinnygirl.

The 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted were hosted by Tayshia Adams.
