Beacon Renewal Services Unavailable at Johns Creek: System Update

JOHNS CREEK, GA – All Georgia vehicle registration and titling services, including electronic services and tag renewal kiosks, will be unavailable beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 30 through Monday, January 3 2022, for a statewide system upgrade to the Georgia Driver Record and Integrated Vehicle Enterprise System (DRIVES) to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Owners of vehicles with expiration dates of late December and early January are encouraged to renew by 7 p.m. on December 30, to avoid any potential delays.

Both Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s Office locations, as well as the Motor Vehicle Division of the Georgia Department of Revenue, will not be able to process transactions and will therefore be closed.

All motor vehicle related online services, including online label renewal services, will be unavailable. Self-service kiosks for motor vehicles will not be available.

Customers and dealers wishing to transact in securities must complete their business with the Office of the Commissioner of Taxes by 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 30.

Motor vehicle dealers will be able to initiate electronic title and registration transactions and issue emergency temporary operating permits over New Year’s weekend. Law enforcement will still have access to vehicle records motorized.

The Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s Office will be closed Thursday, December 30 through Monday, January 3 (during the New Year’s holiday and while the system is being upgraded). The Office will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4.
