Anna Exline of Elizabeth, after over 90 years of a wonderful life lived full of love, family and faith, our mom, grandmother, nanny and grandma finally joined her loving husband of 60 years and all who preceded him in a joyous welcome home dinner on March 18, 2022. The bread was fresh and all canned fruits and vegetables and, of course, his famous jams and jellies were served. Such a joyful homecoming that we can all look forward to and that she was able to put at the head of the table.
Grandmother dedicated her life first to her family and then to the community she served for so many years. After caring for her dear daughter Connie for 16 years, she has dedicated her life to caring for students with special needs throughout the community. Mrs. X, as many affectionately called her, was known for her caring and devotion to her students, as well as her fresh-baked bread and, of course, apple butter.
From a life that began in a holler in Creston, WV, she learned that life may not always be easy, but the love of family is all that is needed. After making her own career attending Glenville State College, she taught for 2 years in a one-room schoolhouse until she was swept away by a dashing WWII veteran to found her own life and business. own family on their farm. They dedicated their lives to their five children whom they raised in love and faith. Working tirelessly, they provided a life that may not always have been easy, but taught them values and love that would be passed on to them throughout life. Fortunately, his 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren were also able to acquire these values and this love. Whether it was simply a place to escape their cares, flower collections, berry picking, or teaching us how to spread the wings of the car, we were all blessed to be a part of his life.
Those looking forward to seeing her again and, of course, enjoying her bread and jelly and a warm hug include: her children Beth (Jim) Wilson, Chuck (Pam) Exline, Susan (Roger) Riel and Mary (Debbie) Exline; grandchildren Hayward (Lori) Wilson, Jamie Wilson, Patrick Wilson, Janie (Doug) Williams, Cristal (David) Stoll, Cheryl Exline, Calvin (Haylee) Exline, Sarah (Sean) Ryan and Jared (Jasmine) Riel; great-great-grandchildren Jimmy, Harlee and Samuel Williams, Jayna, Haylea and Dylan Wilson, Audri, Charli, Mackenzi, Cadence and Cameron Riel and Melanee, Jaxsen and Leora Exline; and his siblings Margie (Larry) Webster, Jack (Connie) Boggs and Chuck (Gladys) Boggs.
