Budget supermarket chain Aldi has announced that it will take on 200 new apprentices across the UK in 2022.
Applications are now open for the apprenticeship scheme at the UK’s fifth-largest supermarket, with opportunities covering everything from shop assistants to logistics and lorry drivers.
Store apprentices at Aldi can earn £198 a week in year one, rising to £295 a week in year three. Those in logistics and driver roles can earn £196 and £328 per week respectively.
The apprenticeship push is part of Aldi’s nationwide expansion drive, with the supermarket set to create an additional 2,000 permanent jobs across the UK this year.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “Today’s apprentices are tomorrow’s leaders, so we are looking for some of the hardest working and most ambitious people to join our team.
“By participating in our apprenticeship program, individuals can learn the ins and outs of the industry at one of the nation’s fastest growing retailers, while gaining in-depth skills and training along the way.
“As we continue to grow as a company, we are constantly looking for more amazing colleagues to strengthen our team – and that includes all ages, roles and backgrounds.”
